ROMA. POETRY. TRILOGY.

An exceptional figure of late 19th century Italian music, pianist, conductor and composer Giuseppe Martucci (1856-1909) remained a committed advocate of pure instrumental music throughout his life: it was not a coincidence that he was called the “Italian Brahms”. This concert, conducted by Riccardo Frizza, features the Italian master’s ‘Piano Concerto’ and his student’s famous ‘Rome Trilogy’. First prize winner of the Salzburg-based International Mozart Competition (2011) and of the Leeds International Piano Competition (2012), Federico Colli will perform the former piece.
