Last year, Jazzfest Budapest brought the Ava Trio together with Aron Horvath on cimbalom – a young, virtuoso cimbalom player determined to hoist the instrument over the threshold into the 21st century. It was an instant click between deeply rooted music traditions of Hungary and the Greater Mediterranean. The quartet is embarking on their premiere tour in September.
